These days because of the lockdown, I often find myself walking into the kitchen and peering into my refrigerator. There has to be something I can get my hands on? If not, its the store cupboard for some snacks. Usually I find myself digging into a bag of crisps or nuts. Very rarely do I pick up a fruit. I tell myself that every time and hope that that punnet of strawberries I recently picked up doesn’t just get slathered with dark molten chocolate. And just as I was spooning out a big tablespoon of peanut butter straight out the jar, I thought why not try making these peanut butter strawberry wraps. It had to work – it combined my two absolute favourites – peanut butter and strawberries.
Without turning this into a very wordy essay, all I want to say is that there is a reason why PBJ sandwiches are such a treat (Peanut butter and Jelly/Jam). The slightly crunchy and earthy texture of peanuts against the sweet graininess of strawberries makes for the perfect combination. Don’t fret if you don’t have jam or jelly, just make these wraps following this simple recipe.
Serve them for breakfast or as a light snack and this goes down a treat with kids too.
In fact why not ask the kids to make these colourful peanut butter strawberry wraps for themselves while of course monitoring and doing any slicing of strawberries yourself. Enjoy this recipe and let me know if you liked them.

- Wash and core the strawberries, halve the strawberry and then make thin slices.
- Heat the wraps based on the manufacturers instructions, you want them soft. If you are using fresh rotis, you don’t have to re-heat. If you are using stale rotis, then simply sprinkle a few drops of water on the rotis and then re-heat on a warm pan.
- Apply a generous amount of peanut butter on one side of the wraps/rotis.
- Place the wraps/rotis onto a plate, then arrange the sliced strawberries so that it covers the entire area.
- Next neatly roll the wraps/rotis by making sure that you tuck the strawberries in every time you roll.
- Serve and enjoy.
